Always On Top

If I have any program open -- Word, Outlook, etc. -- and I open UR, it opens behind the initially active window.

Is there a way to have UR always grab the focus and move to the front?

Regards,
Chuck Billow

The UR window opens in the foreground when started in my tests. Perhaps some other resident software is preventing it?

this happens to me sometimes as well, I click on ur shortcut ... nothing happens, and then I realize UR already waits for the password to open file behind some other app window

If UR is already running, and a password-protected database is opened, I have seen the password prompt dialog not come to the foreground (using Win7). I'm not sure why.

Chuck, I don’t know if you are using Windows 7 but that is an ongoing problem for me in Win7.

Apparently Microsoft decided to deny applications the ability to "steal" focus from already open apps in Win7. Initially that sounds wonderful - I would have voted for that if they allowed voting! But now we are seeing the down side of this. In many instances it is beneficial for windows to take focus when opening but they can not do so in Win7. So oftentimes I have dialogs opening under my open windows and it is tough to even find them let alone get to them.

I've seen many users posting about this issue and there really doesn’t seem to be any relief coming as yet. I keep hoping for a third-party tweak program that will allow me to override this feature when I wish.

Thank you.

Jim

This top focus issue happens for me as well (Enter Password dialog sometimes remains hidden behind other windows). Just happened a few minutes ago in XP, but my memory is not 100% certain for a Win 7 PC where I rarely have as many windows open. Happens when UR is first opened too (with autostart of a password protected database of course).

Mike,

I rarely saw that is XP but I see it every day now in Win7.

Thank you.
