Cool Source Safe Get Latest Version

Hi,

In Visual Source Safe, ONLY the names of the updated files are displayed after Get Latest Version. It gives a straight forward view of the updates.

In Visual SourceSafe, a lot of file names are displayed even when
there are only a few new ones. Could anyone point out a way
to see ONLY the existing and updated files?

Thanks,
Jing

Unfortunately, the output from ss.exe is more verbose than VSS Explorer in this case -- it insists on logging all filenames regardless of whether they were updated or not, and there is no flag to change the behavior. One option would be to write some script in the following step to parse the output (from LASTSTEP_OUTPUT system macro) only for lines prefixed starting wth a string that indicates the local file was replaced or created, and log the results.

Or you could just check history on the files that changed since the last label. Assuminng the full get is successful this should be the same ouput.
