cvs login problems

I have tried connecting to our cvs repository (via pserver) using (1) no password [hoping .cvspass would be used], (2) password as encoded in the .cvspass file, and (3) the actual clear text password. In each case I get "PAM authenticate error: Authentication failure" and "cvs.exe update: used empty password; try "cvs login" with a real password" in response.

Any suggestions??

Thanks
...Don

Took us a while to figure it out. We log on using a client or from the command line, then just don't log off (you can close the client).
