Not saving when open in two tabs

If you have an item open in one tab and then you open the same item in another tab and update the item details there, UR doesn't show the changed data in the item in the first tab.

I haven't noticed this before, but today it lost me some vital data. I've closed UR and opened it again and the error is repeatable. Earlier I got a message I hadn't seen before about it not being possible to update the database because it was in use by someone else.

Is this the way it's supposed to work?

We should probably prevent opening the same item in multiple tabs. You could undo if you accidentally save changes to the same item in two different tabs.

Preventing the same item opening in multiple tabs would be a good idea. In fact, I don't find it very useful to have the item I'm currently viewing opened yet again when I open a new tab.

I take your point about accidentally saving changes, but I very rarely explicitly save in UR, having come to rely on its robustness.
