Turn off autosort

I think items will start out sorted, but you can also move items up and down (Ctrl-U and Ctrl-D) and the position of the items is remembered. In other words, you can manually "break" the sort and have the items in any order you desire.

You can also re-sort later by Tree -> Sort Siblings on the menu.
