Making Flag Toolbar
I would like to create the flag toolbar, and also understand how I can assign a particular label or name to each flag.
The help file says to tear the top part of the flag drop-down menu from the item menu by dragging it. I have tried to do this, and am probably doing something wrong because it is not working. Could someone help me through the steps of creating the toolbar menu and renaming the flags? Thank you. Daly |

Daly, I assume you know clicking on the dot to the left of an item in the explorer outline brings up the flag menu? Last edited by janrif; 04-06-2007 at 04:15 PM. |

I should have known that but didn't. I did work with tearing off the flag tool bar from the item menu. It took several attempts for it work smoothly, but I finally got a flag tool bar. My other question is this -- I seem to recall someone, it may have been you, saying there was a way to assign a name to each coloured flag. Do I recall correctly? If I am recalling correctly, how does one go about doing that? Thanks for your help. Daly |

After several attempts I noticed the arrow points. After several more attempts (grin) I was actually able to do it. I repeat the question I just asked in my reply to Jan -- is there any way to rename the flags so that instead of saying blue, for example, they might say "learning" or "more study"? Thanks. Daly |

He does not need a little push. He needs a specific answer to his specific question. I am aware of thinking that someone, perhaps Jan, as you suggested, talked about assigning a name to a flag other than the flag's colour. In fact, you say that in your post to me. Now what are you saying? Is it possible to name a flag or not? And if it is possible, is it by writing over the flag colour (eg. over red) in the tool/attributes/property box? I am hesitant to experiment because of the issues I continue to have with Launch and web pages though, if you check the thread on that subject, you will see I may have resolved the problem. Daly |

Sorry Daly, I didn't mean to disrespect or anything like that ...
You can do your tests on your test database, it wont affect your main one if it's closed. I probably confused people in this thread more than helped, so my posts in this thread stop here. |
