Translating Ultra Recall into other languages

Most text elements within UR can be translated by the user.

All text within a .urd database file, such as item titles (including those of template and system items), item text and notes, attribute names and values, etc., can be changed by the user. Attributes can be renamed via Tools | Attributes.

To rename the Recycle Bin, select that item, type the new title into the item's text, select the title text, and choose Item | Rename To | Selected Text on the menu.

After localizing all text in a .urd file, save it as a template database, and open it and use File | Save As to create new translated databases, or utilize the User-Defined info database feature to use your translated template database for new databases (see http://www.kinook.com/UltraRecall/Ma...cellaneous.htm).

The user can also customize the text of all menu items (i.e., File, New, etc.) by choosing Tools | Customize | Menu on the menu, then selecting a menu item from the UR menu bar or a chosen context menu, right-clicking, editing the Name menu item text and pressing Enter. Once modified, these settings can be saved and restored onto other computers (see http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...?threadid=2935).

The text of dialog windows (i.e., Tools | Options), message boxes, and pane titles (i.e., Data Explorer) can't be modified by the user.

Several additional spell checker languages are also available for download.

If you translate UR into another language, please feel free to post the translation at http://www.kinook.com/Forum/forumdis...?s=&forumid=28 for other users (ZIP and attach the translated .urd, .reg, and .dat files). Thank you.
