Outlook calendar viewer stuck in day view

I'm playing with the outlook "viewers" that are demo-ed in the outlook.urd sample. The calendar viewer I setup initially displayed in month view (my preferred view). However, once I drop down into a day view, I'm unable to maintain a persistent month view whenever I return to the viewer or between sessions. While I'm able to temporary get back to month view by right-clicking "Go to Date.." and choosing month view, I can't get the month view to "stay".

Any suggestions?
