Enforce internal/external open of a link?
Hi!
If I have a file extension registered among those to open internally (Tools/Options/Browser/File extensions to display in internal browser view), is there an easy way to enforce opening a particular file link with an external application, pls? And vice versa? If a file extension is not listed among those to open internally, can I still somehow enforce a particular linked file to be opened internally? Many thanks in advance! Best, Karel |

To open any item externally, press Ctrl+J or Item | Open Document. To prevent internal display for a single item that is configured for internal viewing, hold down the Alt key when selecting it.
There is not a way to open internally without adding the file extension to the desired viewing option in UR. |

Hi!
Thank you very much for your kind reply! Everything works as you described except for the Ctrl+J shortcut. It works great on a text item, but a linked .xls will not open externally using Ctrl+J. It's not much of a problem though, because RMB Item/Open Document still works on this item. Best regards! Karel |
