Outlook Toolbar not sticking
It's just a minor issue but I cannot get the UR Outlook toolbar to "stick". When I open Outlook (2003) the UR toolbar appears in the middle of the screen, and I drag it to the main toolbar area, where it happily resides until I exit Outlook. When I restart the program, the UR toolbar is again in the middle of the screen and has to be dragged again. Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

Outlook toolbar
Exactly the same thing is happening to me. It started doing this when I upgraded to version 2.0. I also am running Outlook 2003.

It seems that on some computers, the event that Outlook normally sends to add-ins when it closes (OnExplorerClose), which the UR Outlook add-in uses to save its position, doesn't fire (we haven't been able to identify why this occurs). Unzipping and importing the attached .reg file should cause the UR toolbar to be docked (you may need to tweak the registry values to dock in the desired location).

Thanks Kinook. Works great!

How do you go about tweaking, what registry value to look for?
I got the addin to import, but seems to need tweaking. Thanks. |

The registry values that the add-in normally looks for on startup to position the toolbar are specified in the .reg file above.
Under this registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kinook Software\Ultra Recall\OutlookAddIn These values (DWORD type) BarLeft BarPosition BarRowIndex |

Same deal on v2.0a.
Outlook toolbar comes up floating in center of window. Docking the toolbar, exiting and restarting Outlook results in the toolbar being undocked again. Unregistereing/reregistering the dll fixes it on the first launch, but then problem continues. |

Well, I've got to say that this is true for me also.
After setting the registery values, it seemed to hold if I closed Outlook and then reopened, but would revert back to center screen upon reboot or initial startup. Although annoying, I just move the dang thing. |

Me too - what I called the Outlook Wandering Toolbar Syndrome in another thread.
Could it be because I have other software synching, "added in" or associated with Outlook: - Palm Hotsync Manager - MyLife Organized - Taskline - Norton Anti-Spam - Notelens? (OK, I suffer from add-in-itis.) Taskline and Norton both have toolbars. I've disabled the Taskline toolbar - no improvement. Palm Hotsync, if launched before Outlook is opened, definitely makes the Ultra Recall toolbar vanish. But even if Hotsync Manager is closed, the Ultra Recall OL toolbar still starts in the middle of the screen wherever the Outlook window happens to launch. I would be interested to hear whether others with this problem have software synching or associated with Outlook. |

I find that the tool bar becoms unstuck intermittantly.
When it unsticks I import the reg file mentioned earier in this thread and it is fine again for a while. I think what may be happening is that automatic MS Office updates are wiping that registry entry. The next time it happens, I'll check the registry and the event logs to see of that may be true. |

Importing the reg file does nothing in my case, unfortunately.

Edit: Just experimented. The "dang thing" plays SBs either way. Last edited by Hugh; 06-18-2006 at 04:24 PM. |

I just installed v.2.0.b (2006-06-27) and the UR Toolbar appears to be holding it's position in Outlook even after a reboot.
