Thanks Kinook but both these options were un-checked in IE. Any suggestions? A registry hack for URp maybe?

Common script errors messages can be eliminated by Clicking:
Menu: Tools - Internet Options - Advanced tab.
Check "Disable script debugging"
Uncheck "Display a notification about every script error"

As an aside I am still amazed by the difference in performance between IE6 & current FF. And when using FF engine so many convenient clipping abilities are lost. It's frustrating.... to me, at least.
