Generation backups.

Keynote has a simple feature which gives peace of mind. Here's how it works.

You choose the backup option. Plus the number of generations (lets say 9). Plus the folder to put backups in.

When you save (or exit the application) Keynote saves the original database, and it also saves a copy called something like database1.

Next time you save it creates database2.

And then up to 9, if you chose 9 as your option.

When you get past your 9th backup, it'll go back and overwrite 1, 2, and so on.

I think this is a pretty cool feature. It gives peace of mind and is an alternative to manually backing up.

What d'you folks think?

Luke
