word is read only?

Hi,

New problem with Word 2007. I couldn't make the .docx extension work on my machine. I tried the procedures mentioned in another thread (http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...&threadid=2565), but I must be missing something...

Anyway - the "fix" I came up with is that Word2007 enables you to save files, by default, in the old Word97-2003 format. I opted for that in Word2007. But now when I try to edit externally, the document I'm working on is read-only and asks me to save under a different filename. When I do that, of course URP3 has no knowledge of this new file, so the updates don't take.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks.

Regards,
Bal

Make sure that .doc and/or .docx are included at 'Tools | Options | Documents | File extensions to open stored documents writeable'.

Looks like that did the trick.

Thanks a lot.
