embedded media

OK - I have zero idea about how hard this would be to implement. But I'd like to be able to embed inline:

- powerpoint presentations - which let me jump from slide to slide without having to jump out of URP4
- audio, so that I could add audio annotations to things that I write - proximate to the actual written words
- video in all its glory.

I'd like to be able to do inside URP4 what I can do in Wordpress - simply copy the embed a URL provided, say by Youtube paste it to a dialogue and have URP4 determine its size and create the inline player.

this seems ok after adding ppt to view internally in browser

Audio should also be fine in rtf.

You are saying that I could embed a powerpoint file as part of a document and then go through the slides? Consider this sample:

======= item begins ==========
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text.

[powerpoint presentation]

text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text
======= item ends ==========

ok, I misunderstood.

For anything inline, you can basically do whatever you can do with rtf, so you can embed any Object, that has nothing to do with UR or for Kinook to develop. I tried adding PowerPoint presentation (In Word, Insert->Object->Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation) between text like you want, works no problem.

Great - I'll have to test it out. Thanks a lot!
