Maximum Number of Nodes

Just curious, but would I be pushing UR to the limit if I eventually end up with about 20,000 nodes in Data Explorer? I have seen Kevin mention several times that his UR has "thousands" of nodes, but with no appreciable effect on performance. One of the reasons I have abandoned MindManager and several other programs (EverNote 1.1, askSam, etc.) are their severe limitations (in one way or another). We all want and need a program where we can store safely all our data, search and retrive it, etc. But there has to come a time when we will have to stop searching for the holy grail of PIMs, so to speak. UR is a fine program indeed. I'm just worried about limitations regarding the number of nodes, that's all.

Not quite sure but I think this post is somehow related to yours.

Max...

Well, let's hear it directly from the horse's mouth, so to speak, instead of just speculating. Kinook? The exact answer is ...

UR should continue to provide excellent performance with that many nodes. See the following for more details:

The two UR databases I use on a regular basis currently have ~ 4,500 and 11,000 items/links, respectively, and startup and quick searches are still nearly instantaneous (and one is even located on a network share).
