Creating text files within UR

I've been puzzling over this. I know how you can set up templates to create Word, Excel or whatever files from within UR - make an empty document of that type, import it into the Templates folder, change the URL attribute so it's just the file extension, .xls or whatever. This works fine with Excel, Word etc. I'd like to do this also with text files - to create a text file within UR, extension .txt, which when you click it opens in your text editor.

But when I try to open an Item created from such a template, I get the message "Cannot find the file specified." Is there any way of making this work?

Make sure the imported text file is not completely empty.
