categorize - what is it & how to do it
 

I noticed "categorize" but couldn't figure out what it is.

There is a reference to sort / categorize search results & in help it appears user can switch between categoized attribute list & alphabetized list by

~ Start ~
Categorize attributes (sort alphabetically if unchecked): If checked the Attributes displayed in the Item Attributes Pane will be categorized (then sorted alphabetically), otherwise they will just be sorted alphabetically).
~ end ~

However I can't see / figure out how to do either of these two categorize functions.

Can someone offer some help / uses to me?

Hello,

I think you are referring to the way the item "properties" are displayed.
- View/Other Windows/Items Attributes or CTRL+4 will display a window which lists the selected items properties (e.g.: date of creation, modif, etc...)
- The list of attributes or properties it shows can either be sorted alphabetically or by group. These groups are referred to as categories. For example, the "system" category contains dates (creation, modif), number of times the selected item was accessed, etc...
- When you create attributes, you also actually choose a category to put them in. This will also be displayed in this "items attributes" window if you choose to display per category.

View | Alphabetical or View | Categorized on the main menu or right-click menu, or the Sort/Categorized buttons on the View toolbar.
