Restriction on Switch between Text & Document Template

I'm perplexed by the restriction against the switch of of Text and Document template assigned to an Info Item. How come the two can't be mixed? What's the technical ground? Why couldn't the attributes of the text and document template be mapped automatically?

There are many differences in how UR must deal with text vs. document items internally. We may revisit it at some point to determine how much work it would be to support that, but it's difficult to justify giving it a priority over existing items on the feature request list.

Thanks for officially confirming my observation. Meanwhile, I just manually retype data from text Info items to document ones.
Otherwise, all templates originated from the same ancestor template (text or document) can be interchangeable. It's truly a time-saving feature.
