For A-Z, the favorite shortcut is Alt
+Shift+letter or Ctrl+Alt
+Shift+letter. For numbers, Ctrl+Alt+number should open in a new tab (or externally depending on the above option). You do have the Alt+number shortcut assigned to a favorite in Favorites | Organize?
